Christmas is coming! Of course, this year it will be very different. Unfortunately, we are hesitant to hold many extra services in church because we want to keep everyone safe. So most of our extra Christmas ‘services’ and events will be online (http://www.stpetersharton.org.uk/christmas/) or available via our phone line 0191 814 1230.

On Christmas Eve, we will do three services outdoors, together with St Peter’s, because there we can safely effect a one-way system into the church grounds from the gate on Sunderland Road. There will be sanitisation, sign-in, masks, distance etc to a communion service at 11am, a slightly more grown-up nativity at 1pm and as the light fades there’ll be a community carol sing around our Christmas tree at 3pm, with mulled wine. Numbers limited when the grounds are full. Bring your masks and thermals!

On Christmas Day we shall probably meet ‘as normal’ here at 10am. We are still discussing this. Watch this space! There will be no service in church on December 27th.
